Article: Apple's new mouse works on Macs and Windows PCs

Apple's new mouse works on Macs and Windows PCs...whoopie!

Apple's new mouse...what a joke. And someone (industry analysts my foot) actually believes that the Mighty Mouse is going to infiltrate the PC industry? PC users actually like mice that fit their hand, not cute little designer mice. Those are for toys, like Macs, or designers who don't actually do much with their machines but stare at it and think how wonderful it looks.

Don't get me wrong, MacOS X is finally an interesting operating system, and I'm happy that Apple has finally decided that a two-button mouse is useful, but they still only have about 3% of the market share. Maybe moving to Intel processors will help with that, but I wouldn't bet on it unless you can just buy MacOS X for the PC.

Article: Big Brother Brand Car Insurance Appears To Be Working

I just ran across this and think it's pretty amazing: Big Brother Brand Car Insurance Appears To Be Working. Don't worry, I'm not one of those people that worries too much about privacy. No, I don't want people looking in on me in the middle of the night, but I also don't really care if someone watches how I drive. The GPS thing is kind of freaky, if you care about people know where you've been, and then I'd only worry about it if there were some corrupt government agency trying to track me down...not likely as I'm not famous or even infamous.

The thing that bothers me is that insurance companies actually think their product can't be hacked. I mean, ok, so maybe it can't; but I wouldn't doubt that someone hacks it once it's widespread, and then they just drive the way they want and send in the data they want.
